Floods hit Godmanchester again in December 2002 / January 2003, but these are extremely rare and damage to property has been restricted. Plans for improvements in flood defences are in discussion with Environment Agency and the Town Council has formed a Working Party to address the issues. The Environment Agency website shows the flood risk areas of the town and, when appropriate flood warnings.
