Hunts Post, July14, 1955
Godmanchester School was built in 1954 and filled with junior children
in 1955. The Countess of Sandwich officially opened Godmanchester
County Junior School on Wednesday 6th July 1955. Referring to the
perfection of the schools design, she said it
would serve as a model for many schools to come
The headmistress, Miss E M Thackray, commented on the schools special
features the spacious hall, airy classrooms, the view
from the windows but the biggest boon is the quietness of the classrooms..
