Cambridge & Godmanchester Cricket Club is the leading side in the vicinity. Our first team finished fourth in the East Anglian Premier League and we run three other senior sides on Saturdays as well as another three on Sundays. We have a strong commitment to youth cricket running no less than nine junior sides plus Kwik Cricket every Sunday from 11th May for youngsters between the ages of 6 and 9. As the name suggests, we are based in the Exhibition pub on London Road, Godmanchester and offer the opportunity for people to play competitive golf without the need to join a golf club. The society welcomes players of all abilities (we may be able to loan clubs to anybody who needs them) and runs monthly competitions at various courses in the region along with an annual knockout tournament. Additionally, there is a subsidized weekend away during the summer. We also Organise social events (barbecues, race days, Christmas dinner, etc) which are open to friends and families of members. The Club provides the opportunity for the youth of Godmanchester and surrounding district to enjoy football, encourage good individual discipline and team spirit, develop football skills and participate in competitive football. The teams compete in their respective age groups in the Cambridge and District Colts league (11-17 yrs) Huntingdon Mini Soccer League (9 – 11yrs) and Cambridgeshire Girls Mini Soccer League (9 – 14 yrs). Our popular Mini Soccer School accommodates the new “Bobby Charltons” from the ages of 6yrs to 8 yrs and is held on Saturdays. The club has grown phenomenally and is now the largest Colts football club in East Anglia and operates 20 teams. We are always pleased to welcome new players. Players register with the club and pay a signing on fee. Subs are also collected at Games.

Operating both Mens and Ladies teams, read more on page 59. Goddy Mens team play in the Jewson Football League Division 1 and will compete in the FA Vase in the 2003-4 season. The Club have many midweek games during the season, with Wednesday being their normal match night with a 7.45pm kick off. The Club also runs a Reserve, Under 18s and Ladies  team. The Under 18’s play midweek in the Authentic Youth Football League. The Ladies team, managed by Jan Cole, play in The Eastern Region Women’s Football League on Sunday afternoons and Kick off is at 2pm.

The Godmanchester Swimming Pool, which opened to the public in April 1999, and held its official opening in May of the same year.. It has been built following considerable fund raising efforts by the people of Godmanchester. Tang Soo Do is a Korean Martial art, with its history dating back many centuries. The art is an art of self-defence, which has both 'hard' and 'soft' elements within it. We use kicking and punching techniques as the foundation for the defence. Tang Soo Do also utilises the staff, knife, sword and walking stick within its armoury, and a variety of different techniques for all of these are taught. We teach the techniques as individual and combination movements and these are also choreographed into patterns or forms. The words Tang Soo Do translate from Korean to English as 'Way of the China hand'

The Tennis Club welcomes adults of all standards to its club nights at Godmanchester School floodlit courts on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 7:00-9:00pm. Membership fees are £25.00 which includes access to the courts at weekends. Families may also join for use of the courts at weekends. New members are very welcome and if you are interested please contact the numbers above or come to the courts on a club night.
