PDF file hereMinutes of Meeting held 13 February 2003 Present: Apologies: In the absence of SB, Harry/Nicola agreed to chair the meeting and Nina took the minutes New Members Minutes The previous minutes were used as an agenda. AGM - Thursday 27 February at QE School 7.30 for 7.45 pm. Cheese & Wine arranged by Kevin & Kate. As many members as possible there by 7.30 to set up the hall. PH will organise board on vicarage wall and leaflets will go out. Gala Week
Gala Day
Picnic on the Park: Ely Brass Band confirmed. Bridge Magazine:
SS confirmed that there could be some colour in the magazine. Further
details to be discussed with SB. Gala Princess: The princess will be chosen on 25th May at the Comrades Club. FC & AS AOB FC will write to the Police regarding cover for Gala Day
and also St Johns for both Gala Day and Picnic on the Park. The Junior Red Cross would like to affiliate. The GirlGuiding UK have offered to run crafts/crèche
on Sunday. It was agreed it was an excellent idea. PH to pursue. PH handed out details of the 400th anniversary of James
1s progress through Godmanchester which Charles Looker is hoping
the town will celebrate. These details were circulated and discussed.
It was agreed it would be good for the town. Harry Foren proposed and
Nicola Rule seconded that £300 should be made available from the
Community Association Funds to help this event if required. This was unanimously
agreed. However, Judith Kay felt a grant might be available as it is an
educational event. She will make enquiries and contact Charles Looker
direct. Alan Suter had details on scratch cards. These will be
passed to SB. The Lottery licence will need to be checked, in general
it was considered a good idea. The Skateboard Event (although not in Gala Week) had proved
very successful last year and raised £90 for Kidney Research. It
was agreed that this event should go ahead this year Saturday June 18th
was suggested as the date. NEXT MEETING: Thursday 13 March 2003, 8pm at The Comrades Club. Back to Community Association Minutes
