Ode to Godmanchester

Stop the world I want to get off,
To sit and ponder for a while,
Of all the blessings this place gave to me
And all the things that make me smile.
Like a rising sun and a shining moon
And how I may catch a rainbow soon.
A walk by the river, the grass wet with dew,
Pre-dawn, barefooted, maybe with you.
Snow on the causeway, birds in the sky
And the newly made friends that stop to say Hi.
A walk in the park, a song in the rain.
Stop the world, put me back in Godmanchester again.
