Update on Bearscroft Lane & Football 1999
Max Cashback
Stephen Spencer provides an update on new facilities and the local football:

When we were asked last year to let "The Bridge" Magazine know of the progress being made at the new Sports site, we optimistically forecast that we would start playing Football there from September 1999. This can still be achieved, but our best advice is to allow the grass to grow for yet another season, thus it seems more likely that we will start playing our first game there in September 2000 - The Millennium Year.

The Changing Rooms have been constructed and parking adequate enough for 70 Cars and two Coaches is in place. The Trustees now have a task of putting together an application to the National Lottery and The Sports Council to greatly enhance the facility and provide facilities for Netball and Tennis.

The Trustees would welcome the input of others to ensure a successful bid. Enquiries can be made to the following.

Girls Football
This is a thriving addition to the Club, principally started through Jan Cole and the Mini Soccer School. Godmanchester entered the League for the first time this season and in both cases have finished FANTASTICALLY in third position at Under 15's and Under 12's. Next Season the Club will operate three teams at Under 11's, Under 13's, and Under 15's. A Ladies section is being formed and plans are being put into place to enter them in the Eastern Women's League.
